Building Level Grants

The Austin Public Education Foundation is pleased to consider applications that benefit the students of Austin Public Schools for the 2026-2027 school year. Please review district goals before submitting your grant application.

Eligibility

Building-level administrators are eligible to submit grant requests for resources that enhance and enrich the learning experience at a broader level, impacting an entire building or program.

Guidelines

Please use the form below to submit your grant request. Include:

  • Name(s) of the applicant(s)
  • Application Date. This year’s deadline is March 3rd, 2026.
  • Title of the Grant: Give your grant a clear title.
  • Description of Grant: Write a brief overview of the objective or purpose of the grant. Share a little about your student population and how receiving the grant will benefit student learning.
  • Details: Provide a detailed description of the item(s) requested with the estimated cost. List each item separately. Please provide a prioritization of grant purchases in the event of a partial grant award.
  • School: Which building will be served by this grant?

Timeline

Applications are due March 3rd, 2026 for projects to be funded for the 2026-2027 school year.

Reward Instructions

The grant committee will notify you if your grant request was approved, by April 3rd, 2026. If your grant is accepted, give your purchase order to your principal stating it is for the APE Foundation, prior to the last day of school.  For building administrators, submit purchase orders as usual with a notation that funding is provided by the APEF grant. Your order will be made after July 1st, 2026 and you should receive your items in time for the 2026-2027 school year.

  • If a grant is awarded, approval is given only for item(s) and dollar amount described.
  • The foundation board must approve any adjustments or changes prior to purchase.

The Fine Print

The Foundation is unable to provide grant funding for any of the following requests:

  • Salary or benefits for school district employees
  • continuing education or professional development
  • Student fees and/or rentals
  • Curriculum
  • Clothing
  • Field Trips
  • Smartboards, iPads, laptops, etc.
  • Consumable products that are single use: batteries, paper supplies, glue, stickers, food, snacks, etc.
